A circadian-clock (REV-ERB) agonist with metabolic effects in mice, but very poor oral bioavailability and no human evidence.
SR-9009 (stenabolic) targets a different system entirely: it activates REV-ERB, a protein that's part of the body's internal clock (circadian system) and also regulates metabolism.
By switching on REV-ERB, it represses certain clock and metabolic genes and increases mitochondrial activity in rodents, producing endurance- and metabolism-related effects in those models.
Two big caveats: it has very poor oral absorption, which undermines the marketed oral products, and there's no human data at all. It's also banned in sport. Much of its 'fat-burner' reputation outruns its actual, mostly-rodent and poorly-absorbed, evidence.
